LinkArts Personal Training Services use complex training mainly when training athletes in sports specific training. Complex training is a combination of strength training and plyometric training. Studies have shown that complex training is a time efficient way to improve performance, while not compromising strength gains according to a new study in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research. Complex training is also used in sports where athletes need to stimulate both slow twitch and fast twitch muscle fibres.
Complex training can be used in various types of routines; at LinkArts Personal Training we use this system with kettlebell or dumbbell exercises and body weight plyometric exercises. We have found that clients produce a rapid increase in lean muscle tissue, a reduction in body fat and increase speed and power when performing exercises and sports drills.
